Confession time. My Library grew since the last time we checked in on TLP! After having the opportunity to touch and feel some books at our MMQG Sew In
, I hit the on-line stores and picked up these beauties
It was great to be able to look at the books before deciding to buy. Plus some of the projects from your TLPs are in these puppies and I have been thinking about them!
But what about the sewing you ask? Well after last month's big finish on Summer Tracks
, I have been working on Volume. This one is time consuming. True story. After two solid sessions I have three of the eight colors ready to go.
It may take some time, but because of that I am going to treasure this one when it is done.
In another twist, I am participating in the MQG Michael Miller Fabric Challenge. We received six fat eights of Petal Pinwheels
to quilt something.
I must tell you that this whole thing has been kind of stressing me out. I have never created an original quilt design and the kinds of things that win these contests are original designs. But then tonight, as I was composing this post in my head, I thought about my picks for TLP. You know what I could use the Michael Miller Fabrics for? For this...
Yup! Gonna use my challenge fabric for my improv piece. Sometimes I am a genius - two birds and all that again :)

Clever girl, keeping on task with your library project. Our MQG got the challenge fabrics too and I have no ideas yet on what I can create with them. I love the prints though!!ReplyDelete
I'm really sorry I didn't join this one. 4 baby quilts got in the way this year :o
I did make my wish list though and last month I bought two more books. There's always next year, right?
Such a great idea, this library project... Too bad i have absolutely nothing to show. Maybe next month...ReplyDelete
And i love the volume quilt. It will be stunning!ReplyDelete
I had forgotten all about that book Quilt Improv. I think I'll have to look for that one. Happy EasterReplyDelete

Don'tcha love having strokes of brilliance? It's great when you can meet two goals with one plan...AND have fun while you're at it!ReplyDelete
Volume is looking so amazing! And I think I have settled on a plan for my MM fabrics :)ReplyDelete
I have a few pillow patterns I want to do. Inspired by all the pillows being created by MMQG members.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much for the book ideas, it's so nice to have these in our "stash" along with fabric that seems to follow me home.ReplyDelete
Love looking at your strips of colour. Can't wait to see them all together. It will be fantastic. Great idea to combine your two challenges into one.ReplyDelete
Oh I think volume will work out great. It's been on my quilty bucket list for a while too.ReplyDelete
ooohhh... Modern Quilt Revival.... you want to lend that to me, right? I mean, you've got loads of other projects on the go, so you couldn't possibly start something new from it, right? Love, love, love Pillow Pop... but I think you knew that!ReplyDelete
Looking forward to seeing your improv piece! I'm sure it's going to be stunning. I would love to get a copy of that book too!ReplyDelete
