Framing each block, made each like it's own work of art. To unify them I did random straight line quilting (using QAYG! yes, that's right, I am addicted).
The photo op was going to be epic today, it even involved a moose! But plans changed and I ended up with a rather grey sky and at Fisherman's Cove in Eastern Passage. It's a quaint little spot in the middle of the city, and did give me what I love the most, ocean.
For binding and backing, I used that second piece of Ikea duvet cover. Totally works!
TGIFF OctoberQuest strikes again - helping me focus on getting through the "to do pile". The linky party this week is over at Quilter In The Closet so off I go!
Think I will get one more finish before OctoberQuest ends?..... stay tuned!

That is a great quilt. I love the photos too but one of the whole top straight on too so you can see all the blocks at once would be nice. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThat water does look cold, but the quilt is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAnother really beautiful quilt from your studio. Truly, I don't think FMQ would have looked half as good as your straight-line quilting does. Your photo staging is just perfect! LOVE that green wall it looks fabulous with your quilt.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish, adrienne, and of course, you always have beautiful settings for your pictures!
ReplyDeleteWOW...what a perfect photo op day! Those skies looks scary, but made for beautiful photos. That is a most wonderful, colorful - did I say wonderful? - quilt!!! I am afraid of QAYG!
