Gramercy Plus: A Finish

Oh I am so happy to show you this finish! A new Plus Baby quilt made with Leah Duncan's new line Gramercy.

This quilt is my next class sample for a beginners quilting class at Patch Halifax. How fun will this be to make for some brand new quilters! Using Jeni Baker's  Modern Plus Quilt Tutorial, this quilt comes together quickly but teaches all the fundamentals of quilting.

I also set a personal challenge for myself with this quilt. I have had a VERY busy past couple of months with the day job, MMQG activities, and life in general. All so much fun, but in the end every little time for actual sewing! Boo! So at our monthly MMQG Sew In this past Saturday I showed up at 10 am with these squares of fabric and planned to finish the quilt by the end of the Sew In!

Halfway through the day I had the top pieced and quilting started. And by 4 pm - DONE!

It was so fun to work on this goal at Sew In! What a bunch of cheerleaders I had :) After Sew In I headed home for some yard pictures of this baby...

Well that's me for this week. Big doings! Now if you want some of that delish Gramercy fabric, Patch Halifax is carrying it so pop in and get some!

Have you had a marathon session and done a quilt in a day? Would love to hear about it:)

I am linking up this week with Fabric Tuesday, Needle & Thread Thursday and TGIFF!

  6. Looks great! You're turning into a regular Eleanor Burns! Remember when her books were our go to resources? We should do a modern redux of some of those... you know, in our spare time!
