WiP Wednesday: Turns out I am Sewing

Last night I was like "I don't have anything to blog about this week". Mind you while I was thinking that I was sewing! It is been a particularly not so good week. But I find a little quilting therapy can make everything ok. My medicine. So this week I have been working on:

Stash Bee Blocks

Sugar Block Club Block

I am starting my very first mini-quilt today! Pretty excited. I have the fabric pulled and as soon as I hit publish on this Post I am going to start cutting


I have pulled fabric for a friend's Baby Quilt. Cutting into my stash of Bella from Lotta Jansdotter. Cannot wait to make something with this gorgeous fabric. Some may think this is not to babyish, but I have a problem with "cute" things, plus the fabrics are fairly generic since we don't know if a girl or boy is on the way


I also refinished a little cheap footstool that I bought at Walmart. This was one of those projects that sat around for six months and then when I actually sat down to do it, only took a couple of hours. I am in love with the way it turned out.



So I have been sewing, who knew!Back to it!

    Love the way that cute white star snuck it's way into that patchwork! That baby quilt is going to be striking! And that stool is a bold kind of wonderful!

    Wow... you have been busy. I love your stash bee blocks. I have just started a quilt in the same colours and it makes me very happy every time I see orange/gold and blue together.

      Seems I have been leaning towards blue and orange these days, I did not notice it until I made both of these blocks and realized I had pulled fabrics for each block in the same colors!

    I love your Sugar Block Club block the most. It's such brilliant use of fabric. And your footstool is also fab. I love the bright unapologetic orange, so cheering :)

      Thanks! I am really enjoying doing some fussy cutting for the Sugar Club blocks. I cannot wait to see what it looks like when it all comes together.

    Quilt therapy is always the answer, isn't it? Love the colour choices for the mini-quilt. Who could go wrong with Kona? And the footstool makes me want to drive to Walmart and find one of my own!

      seriously paid $15 for that footstool! It is perfect now that it is not animal print

    Those are some great blocks, I especially like the chubby star! I have a few pieces from the Bella line that I'm hoarding to make a quilt for myself (someday). But I love the idea of it being in a baby quilt! Good contrast of colors, cute but modern design.

      Thanks Renee - the truth...I bought a FQ stack of Bella, then liked it so much (and forgot I had some already) and bought a Full Yard Bundle too! That is when I knew my stash buying had to stop :) But now I still have some left to make something for myself as well :)
